In FATHOM THE BOWL you're transported to Baltimore's colorful past, sipping punch and joining in the rousing choruses of comical tavern songs and work chanteys. Then, imagination sails over the ocean in ancient ballads of fact and fancy. It's a world populated by privateers, flash girls, fire ships, whalermen, salt sea pirates, and the occasional mermaid!
The choruses are fun to learn and you'll want to sing along as we celebrate a safe return to Fell's Point after braving the howling winds, billowing sails and enemy shot on the high seas. Safe and sound back home again; it's time for merriment, fiddle tunes, fellowship and laughter.
Your guide through time and tides is Nash Foote, chanteyman of note, portrayed by Steven Lampredi; master and commander of the maritime ballad. Mr. Lampredi has over thirty years experience as a performer and sails on recreated tall ships for first hand knowledge. For the past nine years, he has performed extensively in the Chesapeake region as a member of the celebrated maritime ensemble Ship's Company Chanteymen.
